City of Weyburn closes outdoor rink at Jubilee Park for winter

The City of Weyburn announced that due to weather and time constraints, the outdoor rink at Jubilee Park will not be reopening this winter.

WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn announced that due to weather and time constraints, the outdoor rink at Jubilee Park will not be reopening this winter.

The current condition of the rink would require significant resources to restore it to safe operating standards, as the ice surface has unfortunately melted to the concrete.

“We understand the disappointment this may bring to our community, and particularly those who enjoy outdoor winter activities.

“We invite the community to join us for public and open skating times at the Tom Zandee Sports Arena, running until mid-March,” said a statement issued by the City on Wednesday.

More details can be found in the City's leisure guide at weyburn.ca/xplor:

Open/Public Skating: Mon/Wed/Fri – 1:15-2:30 p.m.

Public Skating (no pucks and stick allowed): Sunday – 3:45-5:45 p.m.
