WEYBURN – Sidewalk construction began on Tuesday morning on the north side of Fourth Avenue South, between Third and Fourth Street, and will take about a week to complete.
The curing process for the newly-laid concrete will extend for an addition two week, ensuring the concrete’s strength and durability for long-term use.
During the construction and curing period, there will be no driveway access. Street parking restrictions on the north side of the street will also be in place during the construction period.
“During the curing phase of the concrete, it is important residents refrain from driving or parking on the newly-constructed sidewalks. While the surface may appear dry, the curing process is essential for ensuring the durability and longevity of the sidewalks,” said municipal engineer Renee Cugnet.
The City of Weyburn asks all drivers and pedestrians to obey signage and exercise caution in the construction zone for the safety of everyone.
If any residents have questions or concerns, they can contact the city’s engineering department at 306-848-3230.
