WEYBURN – The Weyburn Credit Union hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on April 16, bringing together members, board directors, and staff to reflect on a strong financial year and outline plans for the future.

Board Chair Matt Caldwell opened the meeting by thanking attendees for their support. He praised the dedication of the board, staff, and leadership team.

Chief Financial Officer Krista Hubic highlighted key achievements, including $967,350 in member deposits with the member spark rewards program.

Despite slower loan growth due to high interest rates, Kubic said the credit union exceeded efficiency targets and maintained robust capital reserves (15.3 per cent), ensuring stability amid economic uncertainty.

CEO Don Schumlich celebrated the credit union’s success in meeting its nine corporate goals, crediting staff and member loyalty. He also honoured retiring VP Valerie Ness for her 50 years of service and thanked outgoing board members Lynn Colquhoun and Jeff Richards for their leadership.

“We will continue putting our members at the heart of every decision we make,” said Schumlich. “They are the reason we exist and the driving force behind everything we do.”
