Weyburn police arrest two adults on drug, firearm charges

Weyburn police's Drug Enforcement Unit, with assistance from other units, arrested two Weyburn adults on drug and firearms charges on Wednesday.

Weyburn police arrested two adults on Feb. 28 on drug trafficking and weapons charges, after executing search warrants.

WEYBURN – The Weyburn Police Service Criminal Investigations and Drug Enforcement Unit, with assistance from WPS patrol members, the Joint Tactical Support Team, and Estevan Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit, executed a search warrant on a property in Weyburn on Feb. 28. Search warrants were also executed on two vehicles.

As a result of the search, police located indicators of drug trafficking, a prohibited firearm, and a non-restricted firearm. The prohibited firearm was a modified shotgun that had been modified in length rendering it illegal.

Tiffany Martin, 31 years of age, and Ryley Mantei, 29 years, both of Weyburn, were arrested and face charges of trafficking cocaine, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm without a licence, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Martin was remanded into custody and Mantei was released for a future court date with conditions.
