Fire causes $200K damage to home on Fairford Street East

Police and the Fire Department were able to determine that the homeowners/occupants were not inside the house during the fire and they were not harmed.

On Sept. 13 at approximately 7:30 pm, the Moose Jaw Police Service, EMS and the Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to a house fire on the 400 block of Fairford Street East.

Upon arrival, the house was fully engulfed by flames and affected the nearby powerlines, which prompted the arrival of Sask Power and Sask Energy to shut off the power.

Police and the Fire Department were able to determine that the homeownhomeowners/occupantsers / occupants were not inside the house during the fire and they were not harmed.

The estimated value of the damage caused by the fire is approximately $200,000 and the house has since been closed off pending further investigation by Police and the Fire Inspector.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
