Here is a photo of conditions at Gull Lake early this morning.

SOUTHWEST - Road conditions are poor in the southwest of the province, with icy roads resulting in a travel not recommended status for Highway 37 from Gull Lake through Shaunavon and down to the U.S. border.

Other roads in the area are affected as well as the southwest is under a freezing rain warning as of 8 a.m. this morning.

According to Environment Canada, a weak disturbance moving through southwestern Saskatchewan this morning will bring freezing rain to the area. Freezing rain will spread east through the region this morning, then taper off as the system moves southeastward. The freezing rain will be mixed with snow in some localities, and with temperatures expected around the freezing point, some areas will be more affected than others.

Other areas of Saskatchewan are seeing fog. A special weather statement has been issued by Environment Canada. Near zero visibility in fog will continue this morning. The fog may break up through the day but is expected to redevelop this evening in most areas. There will also be a risk of freezing drizzle in these areas which may lead to slippery conditions. If travelling, be prepared for slippery conditions and areas of near-zero visibility.
