An end-by-end look at the game between Canada's Brad Jacobs and Czechia's Lukas Klima

Eighth end: Four rocks lined up along centreline at Klima’s first shot, with Canada back eight foot and top four foot, Czechia top eight foot and top 12 foot. Klima taps back to sit top four foot and Canada on button. Jacobs throws long guard. Klima attempts to draw in but wrecks on Jacobs’ previous guard. Jacobs has draw to full four foot for two, makes it, and that’s the ball game.

Seventh end: Jacobs has delicate hit to lay three with first shot and makes it, with rocks at edge 12, back four foot and edge four foot all along t-line. Klima makes nice double and sits on button wide open. Jacobs hits that stone to sit on button. Klima hits and sticks in four foot for one.

Sixth end: Jacobs draws to button with first shot, Czechia second shot at back of button and Canada third shot touching edge of four foot behind t-line. Klima draws top eight foot behind cover. Jacobs freezes to Czechia rock at back of four foot and sits two on button. Klima tries double runback but misses, Canada steals two.

Fifth end: Kennedy makes nice angle raise takeout with final shot, Canada lays two in 12 foot, one buried. Klima hits open rock and rolls behind cover full eight foot behind t-line. Jacobs draws behind cover to touch top four foot and lay one. Czechia second shot, Canada third shot. Klima makes nice tap back on previous shot to sit two. Jacobs draws button to score one.

Fourth end: Czechia laying one on button and Canada one back full eight foot at skips stones. Jacobs hits and rolls to sit full eight foot and lay two. Klima draws behind cover touching top eight foot, Canada still lays two. Jacobs draws behind cover to touch top button and lay three. Klima makes nice draw tap back to score one.

Third end: Canada and Czechia laying side by side behind partial cover at top of four foot at skip’s stones. Klima taps out Canada rock to lay three, two in four foot and one back eight. Jacobs taps back to sit top full four foot behind cover. Klima successfully taps that rock back, Czechia sits first and second shot at edge of four foot. Jacobs makes double to score one.

Second end: Three rocks clustered together at top of four foot at Kennedy’s last shot. Canada first and third shot touching button and top four foot with Czechia stone in between. Kennedy throws centreline guard. Cernovsky throws angle raise takeout but only moves things around, with Canada now laying first and second shot on button and top four foot and Czechia one back four foot. Jacobs chips out Czechia stone in four foot. Klima tries runback and gets one Canada stone, Canada laying two top four foot and top full eight foot. Jacobs draws partially behind cover to top four foot to lay three. Klima makes great double to sit top four foot and score one.

First end: Czechia has hammer. Lots of rocks in house at skips stones, most of them lined up on the centreline. Czechia is first and third shot, Canada second and fourth. Jacobs makes tapback to lay two top four foot and touching back four foot, Klima third shot top eight foot. Klima taps out Jacobs’ previous shot, rolls full eight foot behind t-line. Jacobs draws button partially behind cover. Klima attempts to follow down for tap but is way light. Canada steals two.

The draw never gets easier for Canada and Brad Jacobs, as they have another tough one on Wednesday night against Czechia’s Lukas Klima. Canada is 6-1 and the lone one-loss team remaining in the draw, but Czechia is 5-3 and has wins over former World champion Scotland and handed China their second loss in the afternoon draw. Expect another close one!
