MOOSEJAWTODAY.COM -- After seeing two of their teams reach their respective provincial semifinals last weekend, the Moose Jaw Canucks will be looking to do the same -- and even better -- at home this weekend.
The Canucks will be the host team for the Baseball Sask 13U AA Tier III championship beginning Friday and running through Sunday at the Memorial Field and Andrie Diamonds.
Moose Jaw gets things going at 11 a.m. Friday when they take on the Saskatoon A’s in their first round robin game, followed by the White Butte Broncos Friday at 8 p.m.
The Canucks then wrap up their round robin at 3 p.m. Saturday when they take on the Turtleford Tigers.
All of Moose Jaw’s preliminary round games are at Lyle Helland Ball Diamond at Memorial Field.
The Saskatoon Sandlot Cardinals, Twin Centers and Sask Five Sliders make up Pool B, while the Humboldt Dodgers, Luseland Dust Devils and Unity Cardinals are in Pool C.
The teams with the top four overall records will advance to the semifinals at 11 a.m. Sunday, followed by the gold medal game at 2 p.m. Should tiebreakers not be needed, the semifinals will be at 10 a.m. and finals at 1 p.m
The Canucks are also in action at the 18U AA Tier II provincial tournament in Saskatoon. They open their run on Friday at 12 p.m. when they take on the Saskatoon A’s followed by the Lumsden Cubs at 8 a.m. Saturday.
The playoff round begins Saturday at 1 p.m., with the semifinals at 8:30 and 11:15 a.m. Sunday followed by the gold medal game at 2:45 p.m. Sunday.
