The votes have been counted, and in a tight election contest, the Sask. Party's Megan Patterson is the new MLA for the Moose Jaw Wakamow constituency, keeping the riding in the Sask. Party's hands for another four years.
Patterson beat her Sask. NDP rival, Melissa Patterson, by 908 votes, and the Green Party's Mike Gardiner by 3,399 votes. Overall, the Sask. Party's Patterson received 3,626 total votes, the NDP's Patterson received 2,718 total votes and Gardiner received 227 total votes.
Patterson succeeds former MLA Greg Lawrence, who announced in August 2023 that he wouldn't be running because of a motorcycle accident. It's also likely that he did not run again because of allegations of assault against his wife.
