Carievale man convicted of abducting his own daughter gets new court date

REGINA - A man found guilty of abducting his seven-year-old daughter to keep her from getting a COVID-19 vaccination has appeared in the Regina Court of King's Bench again.

On Friday, 55-year-old Michael Gordon Jackson, of Carievale, had his matter adjourned to Oct. 21, to continue his sentencing hearing.

In January of 2022, Saskatchewan RCMP issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for Jackson, after he was charged with abduction in contravention of a custody or parenting order.

Jackson and his daughter were located in Vernon, B.C., over a month later.
