Including the change in gas prices in Regina during the past week, prices yesterday were 18.8 cents/litre higher than the same day one year ago and are 11.1 cents/litre higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 3.2 cents/litre during the last month and stands 7.9 cents/litre higher than this day one year ago.

"While most provinces have seen gas prices inching up, increases have remained relatively modest despite recent volatility in oil markets," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "With tariffs on Mexico and Canada currently on pause, trade policy has yet to directly impact fuel prices. However, refinery issues are causing localized disruptions, particularly on the Canadian West Coast, where a refinery fire in the U.S. and the transition to summer gasoline are pushing prices higher. Elsewhere, normal seasonal trends and market fluctuations continue to play a role. For now, gas prices are following typical seasonal patterns, but we remain watchful for potential policy changes that could affect fuel costs in the months ahead."
