Police arrest 15-year-old possessing a firearm

The youth will make an appearance in court today.

REGINA - During the overnight hours of Wednesday, Oct. 9, at approximately 2 a.m., police were called to the 1300 block of Cameron Street regarding a weapons offence (firearm). Police arrived on the scene, and a witness gave officers details about the suspect's description.

Police located a suspect matching the description shortly after and arrested a 15-year-old male. Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the male’s identity cannot be released.

The male has been charged with:

  • Possession of an Unauthorized Firearm [CC 92(1)]
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon [CC 91(2)]
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90]
  • Discharging a Firearm in a Reckless Manner [CC 244.2(1)(B)]
  • Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order x3 [CC 117.01(1)]. 

The suspect will make his first appearance in Youth Provincial Court on Wednesday.
