REGINA - A man is facing charges involving allegations of sexual assault on a minor following a Regina Police Service investigation, and police say there may be other victims.

Cary Harold Reid, 50, of Regina, is charged with: sexual assault; making sexually explicit material available to a person under 18 years of age; obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18; and luring a person under 18 by means of telecommunication.

An investigation began on July 16, after the Regina Police Service received a report that a 16-year-old youth had been sexually assaulted by man in the winter of 2022/2023.

Police determined the man had met the victim online before the sexual assault had allegedly taken place. During his online communication with the victim, the suspect asked for sexually explicit photos and shared sexually explicit videos. He was later found by police and arrested, and charged on July 24.

Reid made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on July 25.

Police report the possibility exists that there may be other victims. If anyone has any information regarding other alleged offences, they are asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers.
