REGINA - The Regina Police Service (RPS) welcomed seven new recruits on Thursday.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Mitakuyé Owâs'ā Centre, with many people in attendance, including Regina Police Chief Farooq Sheikh and Regina Mayor Chad Bachynski.
Bachynski posted to his Facebook, welcoming the recruits to the police service. He also thanked them for choosing their career in law enforcement and wished them the best over their next few months at the Police College.
According to an RPS news release, after completing the 21 weeks of training, the recruits will be graduated from the Police College in May. Upon graduation, the recruits will complete field training under the watch of the RPS.
