Two arrested after imitation firearm found following robbery

REGINA - Two people are facing charges following a robbery yesterday in Regina.

On Jan. 1 at approximately 2 p.m., police were dispatched to a business in the 2200 block of Victoria Avenue for the report of a weapons offence involving a firearm.

Information received indicated two suspects were outside the business, holding a firearm.

One of the suspects approached a victim and demanded items, but was unsuccessful.

A short while later, police arrived and located both suspects nearby, and arrested them without incident.

In searching the area, police found an imitation firearm used in the robbery.

As a result, a 34 year-old man, from Regina, is charged with robbery; and failure to comply with a probation order.

A 31-year-old woman, from Edmonton, is also charged with robbery.

Both accused made their first appearance on these charges in provincial court Jan. 2 at 9:30 a.m.
