MOOSE JAW — Square One Community Inc. and the Rotary Club of Moose Jaw Wakamow are inviting residents to a Spring Brunch and Learn event at the Hillcrest Apostolic Church on Saturday, April 26.
The event aims to raise funds for Square One’s supportive housing initiative, which provides secure accommodations for individuals facing housing insecurity.
Doors open at 10 a.m. for coffee and a meet-and-greet, followed by brunch at 10:30 a.m. in the church gym.
The menu is set to feature Monty from the Rotary Club’s very own homemade pancakes with genuine maple syrup, along with smoked back bacon, a hash brown casserole, fresh fruit medley, banana bread, and jalapeño cheddar cornbread, all prepared by members of the Wakamow Rotary Club.
At 11:15 a.m., presentations will be given by food and housing security agencies, including Square One Community Inc., Willow Lodge, the John Howard Society and its “My Place” program, Hope Ministries, St. Aidan Church and its lunch program, Hunger in Moose Jaw, and the Wakamow Rotary Club. These organizations will discuss their ongoing and proposed efforts to address homelessness and food insecurity in Moose Jaw.
Proceeds from the brunch event will support Square One’s supportive housing program, which offers independent living accommodations at William Milne Place and daily services to help individuals maintain tenancy and work towards full independence.
Tickets are $20 apiece and can be purchased by emailing [email protected]. E-transfers are also accepted at the same address by including “BRUNCH” in the message box. Tickets will be held at the door once purchased.
