The Flin Flon Bombers play road warriors to inch even close to the top spot, while others continue their surge up with solid weeks.

The SportsCage SJHL Power Rankings are created by having contributors independently rank each team from No. 1 to No. 12, then averaging out the scores.

1. Melfort Mustangs (32-6-0)  -

Their four game win streak was snapped as they were stunned by Gage Roberts and the last place Nipawin Hawks on Saturday despite allowing just 12 shots in the loss. Still the class of the SJHL, but they’re hearing footsteps with the Bombers just four points behind.

Next Up: Saturday @ Flin Flon

Top Scorer: Reilly Kotai - 46 points in 35 games

2. Flin Flon Bombers (28-9-3-1)  -

You could say earning seven out of a possible eight points is a pretty good road trip outsourcing their opponents 16-4 in the process. Their point streak sits at 25 straight games, and has them right on the heels of top spot overall.

Up next: Saturday vs. Melfort

Top Scorer: Ryder Ringor - 46 points in 41 games

3. Weyburn Red Wings (26-11-2) -

The red-hot Red Wings extended their win streak to four straight with a three win week including a big road win over Yorkton on Saturday to extend their Viterra division lead to seven points. Jerome Maharaj with another big week vaulted himself to the SJHL scoring lead

Up Next: Friday @ Estevan / Saturday vs. Estevan

Top Scorer:  Jerome Maharaj - 50 points in 34 games

4. Yorkton Terriers (23-15-1)  -

The Terriers split their weekend games at home as they held on for a win over Nipawin on Friday before dropping a tough divisional game to Weyburn on Saturday. The return of captain Jaron Desnoyers was needed as he contributed four points in his first two games back for a team playing nine of their next 12 on home ice

Next Up: Friday vs. Notre Dame / Saturday @ Estevan

Top Scorer: Keenan Ingram & Jaron Desnoyers with 47 points each

5.  Melville Millionaires (20-19-2-1) +1

Other than a slight blip against Flin Flon, it was a very good week for the Millionaires who went into North Battleford and swept the North Stars with two convincing victories and have now won five of their last seven to give them some breathing room in the SJHL playoff race.

This Week:  Saturday @ Nipawin / Sunday vs. Nipawin

Top Scorer: Jadon Iyogun - 32 points in 38 games

6. Battlefords North Stars (20-15-3-2) -1

A tough week for the North Stars dropping both of their games to Melville as inconsistency continues to creep into their game. The return of Nikita Ivashchenko is a big boost as he’s scored his first two games back

Up next:  Friday vs. Humboldt / Saturday @ Humboldt

Top Scorer: Nikita Ivashchenko - 38 points in 32 games

7. Humboldt Broncos  (19-17-2-1) -

Two convincing wins have the Broncos back within four points of the division lead, and a seven point cushion in front of La Ronge for the final playoff spot.  The team is only getting better as the new-look squad continues to gel.

Up Next:  Friday @ Battlefords / Saturday vs. Battlefords

Top Scorer: Jacob Strizzi - 46 points in 35 games

8.  Kindersley Klippers (20-19-1-1) -

The Klippers closed off their stretch of five road games with a 1 and 4 record after a split in Estevan over the weekend.  They’ll be looking forward to returning home for some home cooking for their next three starting this weekend, where they sport the fourth-best home record overall

Up Next:  Saturday & Sunday vs. La Ronge

Top Scorer: Mason Bueckert - 38 points in 41 games

9. La Ronge Ice Wolves (16-21-1-1) -1

Another team that’ll be excited to head back home are the Ice Wolves who’ve won once in their six straight stretch on the road. The Ice Wolves will need to find ways to get more points so their run for a playoff spot doesn’t slip too far out of reach.

Up Next: Saturday & Sunday @ Kindersley

Top Scorer:  Cole Thomas - 31 points in 34 games

10.  Estevan Bruins (13-19-4-1) +1

The Bruins earned three out of a possible four points during a pair of home games with Kindersley which included the first SJHL win for Interim Head Coach & GM Drew Kocur behind the bench.

Up Next:  Friday vs. Weyburn / Saturday @ Weyburn / Sunday @ Yorkton

Top Scorer:  Kent Moors - 35 points in 32 games

11. Notre Dame Hounds (11-23-2-2) -1

After a great week last week, the Hounds took a little step back this week dropping three straight allowing 18 goals against in the process. Spencer Borsos’ play in net will allow them though to play spoiler a bit down the stretch

Up next:  Friday @ Yorkton

Top Scorer: Marko Djordjevic - 37 points in 38 games

12.  Nipawin Hawks  (8-26-3-2)   -

Wins haven’t come as often as they would’ve liked so far this season for Tad Kozun’s bunch but Saturday’s victory over their rivals & top-ranked Melfort Mustangs has got to be a bit of a confidence booster for the young Hawks team and shows anybody can be beat any given night in the SJ

This Week:  Saturday vs. Melville / Sunday @ Melville

Top Scorer:  Carter Anderson - 26 points in 39 games
