Canadian receiver Elic Ayomanor was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the 2025 NFL Draft and he has Saskatchewan ties.
"I did grow up in Medicine Hat, but my mom is from Kincaid, Saskatchewan. I think it's about an hour from Regina or something like that and my grandparents own a farm out there," Ayomanor explained on the SportsCage. "I'd be there quite often, trying to get there as much as possible. It was awesome for us to go there as kids."
Ayomanor did not mind helping out his grandparents on the farm.
"We didn't really see it as work," Ayomanor recalled. "Like to me, it was fun because I'd come in from the city and be able to do all that stuff."
Ayomanor knew his allegiance even at a young age when picking a CFL team.
"I definitely wasn't a Stampeders or an Eskimo fan," Ayomanor said. "I did go to a couple of Riders games with my grandpa. So I guess by default, I would have to be [a Riders fan.]"
The 21-year-old Ayomanor was selected by the Titans in the fourth round, 136th overall. Tennessee traded up to pick him.
"The 2023 game vs. Colorado is probably the best tape of any of these receivers," NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah said.
Ayomanor helped Stanford win against the Colorado Buffaloes 46-43 in overtime on October 13, 2023. He recorded 13 receptions for a single-game school record 294 yards and three touchdowns. He matched up against Travis Hunter, who was selected second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, in that standout performance.
"It's one of those games where everything comes together in the right way," Ayomanor explained. "As much as it was a great individual performance, it also was a great team performance."
In 2024, Ayomanor suited up for all 12 Stanford games, he registered 63 receptions for 831 yards and six touchdowns. At the end of the season, he won the Tommy Vardell and Deswarte-Eller award. During his freshman season in 2023, Ayomanor won the Jon Cornish Award for best Canadian in NCAA football. He played 12 games and made 62 receptions for 1,013 yards and six touchdowns.
One person Ayomanor can lean on for advice is former NFL quarterback and Stanford great Andrew Luck.
"He's the GM of the football team, so whenever I'm around, it's likely that he's going to be in the facilities. So yeah, we talk often," Ayomanor said. "He's also a Stanford man, so he has a really great mind. He's always giving great advice and telling me things to watch out for or things that he went through."
Ayomanor explained his NFL Draft process when asked if he talked with any teams.
"I have been talking with a whole bunch of teams in the pre-draft process. Went on a couple of visits out to team facilities," Ayomanor said. "Honestly, my main focus is to prepare for what comes after the draft. Really trying to be prepared for this first time I walk into whatever facility that I end up getting drafted to. To have a good first impression and really hit the ground running once I get there."
Ayomanor shares some kind words about all the love and support he has received from Kincaid, Saskatchewan.
"I appreciate all the people that have supported me from there," Ayomanor said. "Like I said, my grandparents are from there and some extended family. I appreciate you guys for all the support you've given me throughout my childhood."
