It's all about giving back and Boston Pizza is on board with doing that.

Jim Treliving of CBC's Dragons' Den and Chairman of Boston Pizza International recently made himself available to present a $42,846.47 cheque on behalf of the Saskatchewan Boston Pizza Franchisees and the Boston Pizza Foundation to the Saskatchewan Abilities Council for the dollars raised from Saskatchewan's first annual Boston Pizza Day for Camp Easter Seal. "I'm thrilled to be able to recognize the incredible efforts of our guests and franchisees in Saskatchewan to raise money for a very worthy cause," says Treliving. "Thanks to their generosity and all of the hard work of our stores and staff, we're giving a lot of kids facing challenges the opportunity to experience summer camp."

All Saskatchewan Boston Pizza Restaurants, BP's Lounges and the Saskatchewan Abilities Council came together to raise funds and awareness for Camp Easter Seal at the 1st annual Boston Pizza Day for Camp Easter Seal, in June. Our guests came in for lunch, dinner and drinks with family and friends at all Boston Pizza restaurants in Saskatchewan. The Franchisees donated 10 per cent of total net sales that day to Camp Easter Seal through the Boston Pizza Foundation .

Saskatchewan is a leader in philanthropic giving across Canada and once again, Boston Pizza guests have shown their generosity by supporting a well deserved Saskatchewan Charity.

"On behalf of all of the franchisee's in the province, we would like to thank all of our staff for the efforts they put into the day and mostly, we would like to thank our guests for the support they gave us and Camp Easter Seal. We are thrilled to be able to contribute in a little way towards the success of Camp Easter Seal," says, Saskatchewan Boston Pizza Franchisee, Jim Werschler.

Boston Pizza guests helped raise additional funds and spirits for these very special campers! A large number of MPs, MLAs, Municipal Leaders, Chamber and Tourism Executive Members along with Saskatchewan Abilities Council Board Members, Volunteers and Staff across the Province rolled up their sleeves to help serve guests at all Saskatchewan Boston Pizza locations to build awareness.

Guests purchased a specially designed Camp Card when they visited a Boston Pizza restaurant and wrote a camp card message to someone special. The camp cards were posted throughout the restaurants and literally filled the walls with support for Saskatchewan kids with disabilities to attend summer camp.

"On behalf of the 700 individuals that attended Camp Easter Seal this past summer, we are overwhelmed by the generosity of the Boston Pizza infrastructure that has partnered with us to enhance the lives of children with disabilities. The enthusiasm and commitment of the franchise owners is admirable as they rallied in support of the first annual Boston Pizza Day for Camp Easter Seal," comments John Denysek, Regional Director, Saskatchewan Abilities Council.

All funds raised through Boston Pizza's 10 per cent of net sales donation and Camp Cards were donated to Camp Easter Seal through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which raises funds for a variety of local, regional and national charities across Canada, including the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, Kids Help Phone and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

"On behalf of the Boston Pizza Foundation and myself I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to all the Saskatchewan Boston Pizza Franchisees and their restaurant staff for an outstanding fundraising effort for Camp Easter Seal, making the presentation of this cheque possible. The Boston Pizza Foundation has raised and donated over $ 16 million to date, since it's inception in 1990 to charities across Canada making a difference in the communities we live, work and play in. It is through the continuous and generous philanthropic work of our Boston Pizza franchisees and their teams that we continue to be able to support the incredible work of charities like Camp Easter Seal in making a difference for those in need right across Canada," adds Cheryl Treliving, Executive Director, Boston Pizza Foundation.
