Baseball school provides valuable teaching for young players

Boys and girls aged six to 15 took part in sessions working on hitting, throwing, fielding and base running.

CANORA - The Inside Pitch Baseball Academy held sessions in Canora for ball players aged six to 15 from across the region on May 26.

Players learned from IP trained instructors, many of whom are former professional ballplayers, according to organizers.

Boys and girls were welcome, with 24 participants for the morning session and 34 participants for the afternoon session.

Power pitching/throwing instructors taught the young players to throw harder and with more control. In the hitting and skills sessions, the focus was on hitting for improved power and average, base running, as well as playing defence in the infield and outfield.
