Kwas acclaimed for Canora mayor, 13 running for council

Thirteen candidates are running for the six council spots in the Wednesday, Nov. 13 civic election.

CANORA — While Michael Kwas will remain mayor of Canora due to no one else running against him, Canora residents won’t be lacking for choice when it comes to selecting councillors.

Thirteen candidates are running for the six council spots in the Wednesday, Nov. 13 civic election.

Candidates are:

  • Todd Bobyk,
  • Jacqueline Fetchuk,
  • Bradley Gabora,
  • Kevin Haw,
  • Denise Leslie,
  • Cory O’Dell,
  • Gina Rakochy,
  • W.H. (Bill) Reaume,
  • Dwaine Senechal,
  • Lucas Senechal,
  • Eric Sweeney,
  • Kerry Trask and
  • David Wasyliw.

Members of council at the end of the 2020 to 2024 term are: Mayor Michael Kwas, Jacqueline Fetchuk, Bradley Gabora, Denise Leslie, Eric Sweeney, Kerry Trask and David Wasyliw.

Voting will take place on Nov. 13 at the Rainbow Hall on 203 First Avenue East between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Advance voting will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9 between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Canora Town Council Chambers.
