Update: Canora death deemed non-suspicious

Police looked into a reports of a injured man at a Canora residence. The man was found. EMS pronounced him deceased on the scene.

Saskatchewan RCMP are looking into a suspicious death at a Canora residence.

CANORA — A death in Canora that Saskatchewan RCMP initially considered suspicious in nature was determined to be non-suspicious after investigation.

On June 26 at approximately 2 a.m., RCMP said in a media release that the local detachment received a report of an injured man.

Police said officers immediately responded and located the man.

"The 32-year-old male from Canora was pronounced deceased by EMS on scene. His next of kin has been notified and victim services has been offered to them," Saskatchewan RCMP said.

Originally, the RCMP considered the death suspicious. In a follow-up release June 27, the RCMP said after continued investigation by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, the death appears non-suspicious in nature.

"As the investigation has now determined that this is a sudden death, no further updates or information can be provided," police said.

RCMP said the man's death is considered suspicious and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has taken on the ongoing investigation.

"We are unable to provide additional information about this investigation at this time," police said. "Updates will be provided when available."
