NORQUAY — The Norquay School kicked off the new school year with a sizzling barbecue on Sept. 6, bringing together students, staff, and locals for a meal of hot dogs, hamburgers, and more.

In charge of preparing the barbecue was the high school math and science teacher Nicole Grocholski, who expertly handled the patties, alongside SRC members Brody Gulka and Chase Vogel, who manned the barbecues.

Good Spirit School Division trustee for the Kamsack and Norquay area, Jaimie Johnson, along with SCC member Tracie Chermcora, handed out slices of cake in celebration of the new school year. Norquay School principal Audrey Severson and vice principal Stacey Rubletz also joined the lineup of teachers and staff serving the meals. Their efforts ensured that everyone in attendance had their fill of burgers, hot dogs, potato chips, and more.
