Doug Bullis, Canadian Tire owner, presented a cheque for $2,500 to Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation, to help fund the conceptual plan for a new regional hospital.
"We are really pleased to support planning for a new hospital, said Mr. Bullis, and I think most of the business community understands how important a new hospital will be to this area. It will help us attract new people to work in our businesses, and it fits right in with the growth of our region and the new investment we are seeing in this area."
"More than that," Mr. Bullis continued, "a new hospital will allow the hospital to expand and improve on the health services that are available to everyone in this area. A new hospital will also make it easier to attract new doctors and other medical specialists that we need. With the growth that we are seeing in this region is simply makes sense that we start to plan for a new hospital and the service we will need.."
"It is great to see this support from Canadian Tire, and the support this project is receiving generally. People are really making the connection that a new regional hospital will tremendously benefit our local healthcare. The business community especially has been very supportive of the planning process for a new hospital. Proper planning ensures that we will build a facility that can grow with this region, and provide the services we need for the next 50 years," said Mr. Fisher.
