Canora residents and highway motorists support Telemiracle

Approximately $4,000 was collected by Sturgis Kinsmen and members of the Sturgis Composite High School SRC (Student Representative Council) during their 25 th Mini Miracle Marathon on March 1.

This group of Sturgis Kinsmen and members of the Sturgis Composite High School SRC (Student Representative Council) took part in the Sturgis Mini Miracle Marathon on March 1 to raise money for Telemiracle. Approximately $4,000 was collected by Sturgis Kinsmen and members of the Sturgis Composite High School SRC (Student Representative Council) during their 25th Mini Miracle Marathon on March 1.

Organizer Daniel Wasylenchuk said the group raised approximately $2100 by canvassing the town of Canora and the remainder on the highway during the 38-kilometre trip from Canora to Sturgis.

A total of 13 runners from the Kinsmen and the SRC took turns running one kilometre at a time. During the run, motorists were encouraged to stop and contribute to the cause.

Participants in the mini marathon included: JR Puyos, Elijah Hort, Jalen Bayer, Brad Cameron, Bo Babiuk, Carter Masley, Garrett Baziuk, Neil Christopherson, Zane Bayer, Kaleigh Folk, Dean Serdachny, Shanae Olson, Jimmy Prekaski, Sierra Meroniuk, Terry Hancock, Cole Kowalchuk, Peyton Secundiak, Conrad Peterson, Keith Babiuk, Tyler Blender, Daniel Wasylenchuk and Dale Lisoway.

Wasylenchuk was pleased with the results of the event.
