Laketown Leaders sponsor monthly Pot Luck Luncheons and the next one is Mon., April 16. The monthly bingo will be Thurs., April 26 at 1:30 p.m.
Saltcoats United Church Easter worship is at 9:00 a.m. on April 8. A reminder that the joint service (one in the pastoral charge) is April 22 at 10:00 a.m. in Langenburg.
Saltcoats Regional Park is hosting the 7th annual Salamander/Walk/Run on Sat., June 9 at Saltcoats and District Regional Park beginning at 8:00 a.m. Call Mike at 744-8159 or Barb at 744-2511.
Saltcoats Anglican Church Easter worship service is at 9:00 a.m. at the home of Stan & Sharon Gibler. This is 316 Allan Avenue. The change of venue is due to renovations at the church.
Saltcoats and District Recreation Board had given out the yearly Lottery Funding allocations. This is not for the calendar year. The recent monies were for April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012. The Regional Park board funds of $700.00 went for Canada Day events. Saltcoats School $2,519.00 is one of the best ways to disperse the funds for the benefit to the most citizens in the district. The school also gives a good portion of the allocation to the Skating Rink for the use of the facilities for student recreation. School funds also were used for curling and archery supplies as well as a swing.
Minor Sports received $225.00 and the Curling Club $1,271.00. Preschool Playschool were allocated $375.00. The Museum, Saltcoats Library and Saltcoats and district Daycare allocation was $300.00 each. The Laketown Leaders received $150.00. The total was $6,140.00. The new year request (April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013 time period of the grant beginning and completion) has gone in to the Lottery foundation already and depending on the follow up reports of the above mentioned projects, new funding will be forthcoming for this season projects.
Saltcoats Anglican Church upcoming events include a Deanery (only service in Pelly Deanery) worship service at 11:00 a.m. in Saltcoats Stirling Room on Sun., April 29. The service is followed by a pot luck lunch. Also mark your calendars for Sun., May 13 at 11:00 a.m. in Churchbridge with guest, Mr. Mike Endecott of Wales, who is an international leader of Healing Ministry. This service is also followed by Pot Luck Lunch.
Saltcoats Library reminds all that the annual Mother's Day Strawberry Tea will be held at the Stirling Room on Sat., May 12 from 2:20 to 3:30 p.m. All are welcome to this annual fundraiser.
The interdenominational Good Friday Service is presided on by Saltcoats Anglican Church at 11:00 a.m. Fri., April 6. Remember this is being held at the United Church, with thanks, due to renovations.
