SASKATOON - The Saskatoon Police Service Serious Assault Unit is investigating following reports of two separate stabbings Monday night.

At around 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 19, Saskatoon Police were called to the 300 block of Avenue M North for a report of a recent assault in the area. When police arrived, they found a 52-year-old victim suffering from a minor stab wound. Medavie Health Services West medically assessed the victim before transporting him to hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injury. It has not been determined if the victim and suspect are known to one another.

Later, around 11:15 p.m. the same evening, police were called to the 1100 block of Avenue F North for a report of an injured person. When police arrived, they found a 27-year-old victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and began lifesaving measures. Medavie Health Services West soon took over care of the victim and transported him to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The victim and suspect are believed to be known to one another.

In both incidents, the suspects had fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. Members of the Serious Assault Unit are continuing to investigate and no arrests have been made in either occurrence.
