SASKATOON — Saskatoon’s Serious Assault Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning in the 100-block Avenue M South.

Saskatoon Police Service says that approximately 3:30 a.m., police received a report that a woman had been shot and was injured outside a residence. Upon arrival, patrol officers located a 25-year-old woman who was suffering from what appeared to be a non-life-threatening injury.

Police say the victim reported being approached by people who shot her and fled the scene.

Police are also looking into whether a blue Pontiac Sunfire, which had been reported stolen from North Battleford, is connected. Another patrol officer who was in the area when the incident occurred witnessed a suspicious vehicle being driven near the scene. That vehicle was located a few minutes later parked and abandoned in St. Paul's Place.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the SPS at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
