The Female Athlete of the Month for April is awarded to two girls from the senior badminton team. Both are strong athletes, dedicated to badminton and they demonstrate sportsman like play all the time. Their coach says they always work very hard, played club badminton in the off season and have continued to improve all year.
The girls are also part of the Saskatchewan winter games team as girl doubles. This Sacred Heart girl's doubles team has won gold in Melville, gold in Canora and gold at the city playoffs. The Female Athletes of the month for April are Taniya Heuchert and Andrea Redl.
The Male Athlete of the Month for April was a member of the senior boys volleyball team as well as the boys soccer team.
He is winning the April athlete of the month award for his contributions to the senior badminton team. His coach says this athlete is one of the strongest players on the team and he has improved dramatically since last year. His coach also says he is a skilled natural athlete, very coachable, always sportsman like, and very competitive.
So far this year he has played boys doubles with his partner Mark Kuemper. They have won gold in Kamsack, gold at the home tournament and gold at city playoffs. He is Jeremy Johnson
