Paul

Paul Holowatuik passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018 at his home on the farm in the R.M. of Ituna Bon Accord at the age of 82. Paul was born on December 27, 1935 and grew up on the family farm along Hardrock Road. Paul attended the Hardrock School. As a young man he enjoyed playing sports and found a special passion and talent for curling. Paul moved away from home for a few years and worked in Edmonton. He later returned back home to help his father with the family farm and would eventually take over the farm when his parents passed away. Besides farming, Paul also worked on the PFRA community pasture and had a true passion for cattle and horses. Paul learned the value of hard work at a young age and carried that throughout his entire life. He could usually be found working in the shop, 'tinkering' with different projects and machinery. He truly loved the outdoors - whether it was hunting, gardening or taking care of the yard, Paul always had a canine companion right by his side. He enjoyed watching sports from the comfort of his own home and was a big Saskatchewan Roughriders fan. He loved visiting with friends and family and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Paul is survived by his sister Olga and his brother Nick, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Paul is predeceased by his parents Mary and Anthony, his brothers Steve, Harry, John and Walter. Prayers were held on Sunday, February 18 and the Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Monday, February 19, 2018, all from the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna. Rev. Fr. Raymond Lukie, C.Ss.R. was the Celebrant. Lisa Milo read the Epistle, the cross bearer was Kyle Kuschak. The interment took place in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with Roman Marshall, Cliff Ivanochko, Dick Ivanochko, John Musyj, William Zenkewich and Bob Solomon serving as the casket bearers. Condolences can be left at baileysfuneralhome.com.
