YORKTON - It has been wins aplenty for the Yorkton Terriers to start the SJHL season.
Saturday they invited Kindersley to the Westland Insurance Arena in the city and even spotted the Klippers the first goal, a marker by Will Christian at 13:36 of the first period.
A powerplay effort by Aiden Knutson knotted the game at 16:16. The 1-1 score held until the second period.
In the middle stanza the game tilted toward the Terriers. Carter Briltz scored at the five-minute mark, and Dustin Renas added a powerplay goal at 19:50 to give the home side a 3-1 lead through 40-minutes of play.
Dayton Tailfeathers drew the Klippers within one with a goal at 12:41 to open the ledger in the third.
But the Terriers would add two for a 5-2 win with Thomas Ries finding the twine at 16:49, and Jaron Desnoyers putting one in an empty net at 18:55.
Callum Craig grabbed the win in the Terrier net facing 22-shots.
Brett O’Halloran took the loss for the Klippers facing 23-shots.
Up next for the Terriers they host Flin Flon Tuesday, and Humboldt here Sunday.
