YORKTON - The Yorkton Terriers will be hoping a return to the Westland Insurance Arena in Yorkton for their next playoff action will turn their fortunes around.

Friday the Terriers managed only one goal in a 6-1 loss to Melfort in their SJHL semi-finals opener.

Tonight, (Saturday) the Yorkton offence didn’t manage even one goal, although their defence was stingier.

It took only 3:59 into the first period for Zac Somers to score what would prove the game-winner. It was a powerplay effort and the only goal of the opening stanza.

It was the same scenario in the middle period as Logan Belton scored the only goal, and again it came on the powerplay.

In the third period the only difference was that Cole Unger’s goal to round out a 3-0 Mustang win was that it was an even strength effort.

Ethan Farrow was in the Terrier net facing 27-shots in the loss, while Kristian Coombs earned the Melfort shut-out facing 28-shots.

Games three and four of best-of-seven are set to be played in Yorkton Tuesday and Wednesday.
