Court order breached despite child porn charges

Accused was released from custody on Tuesday afternoon.

REGINA – Released on Tuesday of this week, a man facing child porn charges was back in court today after breaching conditions.

The accused is one of two men appearing early next month on a combined 13 charges that spanned from April 1, 2017 to Dec, 27, 2022, involving a young female victim. Police investigation led to the arrest of both men on April 18, and the Crown was opposed to their release on the initial court date two days later.

The breach related to a condition where the man was not to possess a device capable of storing data in a digital format or access the internet.

The Crown again opposed to the man’s release from custody, and he will be remanded until his next appearance in Regina Provincial Court on May 3.
