SASKATOON - A number of firearms were seized following an investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit.
Police received information that a 21-year-old man was in possession of a prohibited firearm. He was also believed to be selling illicit drugs.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., Jan. 26, with the assistance of the Patrol and Tactical Support Units, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 100 block of Avenue K South. Approximately a dozen people were evacuated from the home and a 42-year-old man, attempting to hide, was arrested on outstanding warrants. Inside, police located a sawed-off shotgun, two pellet guns, ammunition and cannabis believed to be for sale.
Prior to the search, the 21-year-old man was arrested without incident, during a traffic stop in the 100 block of Avenue U South. He was found in possession of a can of bear spray and cannabis. He is facing four firearm-related offences as well as a charge of possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling it.
