REGINA – A man charged with attempted murder back in 2020 will need to wait at another week in custody.
Justin Robert Pelletier, 37, appeared in Regina Provincial Court this morning via video. His lawyer noted that while a bail report had been ordered in the matter, there was an issue with housing in the release plan. The Legal Aid lawyer requested another update be ordered as an alternative residence has been proposed.
A return court date of Sept. 14 was set to give time for the new report to be made.
Pelletier stands charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon in relation to an incident that occurred on June 2, 2020. Police were called to the 1100 block of Queen Street at around 6:15 p.m. on that date for a report of a weapons offence.
When police arrived, they found a woman with stab wound described as “serious, but not life-threatening.”
A man was observed leaving the scene and arrested by police. That suspect - Pelletier - was carrying a knife at the time of his arrest.
