REGINA – Crime doesn't pay, and police proved that participating in organized crime will also get you caught eventually.
A lenghtly operation by the RPS Street Gang Unit into alleged members and associates of a local criminal organization has concluded, with some arrests made.
"As a result of a three-month investigation by the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit, police have arrested and charged four adult males and two adult females," said RPS in a news release.
Oliver Nelson Chaske, 36, was charged with instructing the commission of a criminal offence for a criminal organization, kidnapping, robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault, attempt to obstruct justice, intimidation of a justice system participant, uttering death threats, and conspiracy to commit drug trafficking.
Three other men aged 19, 29, and 30 plus two women aged 34 and 36 have also been charged with commision of a criminal offence for a criminal organization.
"Due to the ongoing investigation, police will not be providing the names of these five charged persons," said RPS.
Chaske has already appeared in Regina Provincial Court back on May 29.
