REGINA – One woman was sent to hospital after being stabbed during an altercation on May 9.
Just before noon on that date, police were called to the 2900 block of Dewdney Avenue for a report of a weapons offence. Police were told two men had threatened a group of people, and once officers arrived, they discovered the injured woman.
"Investigation determined that a group was at a business on Seventh Avenue and Albert Street when two females - aged 36 and 35 - approached the group and began to argue," said RPS in a media release.
The older of the two revealed a firearm and the two females left, according to police.
"Two males in the group exited after the females, and one male assaulted the 35-year-old female with a bladed weapon in the area of the 2900 block of Dewdney Avenue," RPS said. "A search of the 36-year-old female revealed imitation firearms."
Police say both men were apprehended without incident, and one was charged for the assault on the woman.
Maximus Kenneth Willows, 19, is charged with assault with a weapon, and failure to comply with a disposition.
Crystal Gail Taypotat, 36, was also arrested, facing charges of possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts failure to comply with a probation order.
Both Willows and Taypotat appeared in Regina Provincial Court on these charges this morning.
