Second person charged in murder of Jeremy Starblanket

Starblanket’s body was found at the scene of a house in Prince Albert two years ago. The explosion at the house blew the building off of its foundation.

PRINCE ALBERT – Police have arrested a second-person in the death of 29-year-old Jeremy Starblanket in March 2021.

Henry Ratt, 26, of Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation was arrested Feb. 22 and charged with first-degree murder. He made his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Thursday morning. He is back in court on March 16.

Loretta Sakebow is charged with second-degree murder and a trial will be held in Prince Albert Court of King’s Bench. She was arrested in July 2021 after police issued a Canada-wide warrant for her arrest.

Prince Albert police say Starblanket’s body was found at the scene of a house fire in the 500 block of 5 Street East in Prince Albert. Prince Albert Fire Department said the explosion at the house blew the building off of its foundation.
