SASKATCHEWAN RIVERS – Voters in the Sask-Rivers constituency will head to the polls Oct. 28 for the provincial election, with five candidates vying for the MLA seat representing the Saskatchewan Party, NDP, Green Party, Saskatchewan United Party and the Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan.
Alesha Bruce, Green Party
"Alesha Bruce started her teaching career in 2007. She has taught in Christopher Lake, Wildrose, Red Wing, Spruce Home and Shellbrook – as well as all the schools in Prince Albert since she has always been ready to help out as a substitute teacher. Alesha believes strongly in sustainability and wants to do her part to leave an ecologically sound world for the next generations. She has taught sustainability in the classroom. Doug Racine, New Democratic Party
"Doug Racine is a military veteran and a lawyer of 25 years. He grew up in a rural community and understands the value of small towns and healthy communities. Doug has a strong sense of service and justice. He practiced criminal, civil and administrative law; represented organizations at the Nuclear Safety Commission and National Energy Board; and appeared at the highest levels of court in Alberta, Sask and BC. Doug served on the Board of the Saskatoon Community Clinic and has promoted sustainable forestry practices.

Eric Schmalz, Saskatchewan Party
"Since 2019, Eric has served as Reeve for the RM of Prince Albert. Before entering politics, Eric served 13 years as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In 2016, he joined his family’s business and obtained training as an auctioneer. In 2019, Eric was elected Reeve for the RM of Prince Albert in a by-election, and subsequently re-elected in the fall of 2020. Nadine Wilson (Incumbent), Sask United Party
"Nadine studied social service work and later became one of the first women to work as a corrections worker in the Men's Provincial Correctional Centre in Prince Albert. She was twice elected reeve of the rural municipality of Paddockwood before making the move to provincial service.
