City of Humboldt elects Muench as new mayor

Muench wins mayoral race for City of Humboldt. Scott, Jorgenson, Siermachesky, Rowe, Korte and McInnis in for council positions.

Muench won the mayoral seat with 988, Andrew Baker was a close second with 777 votes.

HUMBOLDT – The City of Humboldt went to the polls on Nov. 13 and voted in Rob Muench as the mayor for the City of Humboldt. Muench was previously a councillor for the City of Humboldt and also served a previous term as mayor. 

Once the votes were counted, Rob Muench won with 988 votes, with Andrew Breker in close second place with 777. Harley Bentely had 182 votes.  

Michael Behiel had announced earlier that he would not be seeking another term as mayor.  

There were 10 candidates for six council positions with the following being elected: 

Scott, Marilyn – 1217 votes - elected 

Jorgenson, Larry – 1158 votes – elected - incumbent 

Siermachesky, Karen – 1044 votes - elected 

Rowe, Dave – 1001 votes - elected 

Korte, Roger – 1001 votes – elected - incumbent 

McInnis, Sarah – 987 votes – elected 

The remaining candidates received: 

Klitch, Amanda – 984 votes  

Dufort, Lee – 877 

Armstrong, Clayton – 679 

Leonew, Darcy – 675 

Humboldt will see incumbent Klitch lose her seat by just three votes.
