Unity Mayor Leonard Boxell was returned to office for his second term as mayor by acclamation. Meanwhile Paul Bast, John Britton, Les Johnson, Madge Leeson, Franklin Mann and Nick Seneshen were vying for three council seats.
Leeson’s Ladies’ Wear hosted Steen & Wright Furriers for an October fur sale. Advertised were minks, fun furs, Persian lamb, muskrats and moutons, as well as suede.
Luseland town council passed a motion “that we write a letter to Saskatchewan Power Corporation protesting strongly their tree cutting methods.”
The SaskPower cavern project, for storing natural gas, at Landis was 25 per cent complete. The caverns were to supply fuel to a new gas-turbine peaking power station as well as providing additional natural gas to customers during peak winter demand.

The Town of Wilkie proclaimed WRAP (White Ribbon Against Pornography) Week. Signed ribbons were to be presented afterwards to MP Gerry Ritz, to support lobbying to raise the age of consent from 14 to 18 years.
Central Electronics on Main Street in Unity was hit by break-ins and theft three times in less than two weeks. Owner Lorne Schmidt said, “Each time they took different stuff.”
McLurg Broncs football team put up 69 points in a win over Plenty. Danny Sittler had four touchdowns, including one of over 70 yards.
Unity town council was looking at different options for their office space as their lease would be expiring at the end of August, 2005.
