REGINA - This was the scene at City Hall and the Queen Elizabeth II courtyard on Tuesday night for the Light the Lights event in Regina.
It was the 22nd annual event to light the lights, billed by organizers as a family friendly event to showcase Regina as a winter city.
The night featured a host of musical entertainment as well as games, interactive ice creations, and wagon rides. Free hot chocolate was offered inside, and there were appearances by the Regina Pats and even a few Saskatchewan Roughriders in the crowd.
The highlight was the moment around 6:20 p.m. when the lights were officially turned on to illuminate City Hall and the courtyard for the holiday season. The lights will stay on throughout the holiday season.
