SASKATOON – A 29-year-old Saskatoon man was arrested after assaulting a police officer on the night of Sept. 12.
At around 10 p.m., police were involved in another matter in the area of Avenue U South and 21st Street West when a man not involved int he situation "aggressively approached" and assaulted one of the officers.
He was arrested after a brief struggle, and was believed to be under the influence of a substance.
After being transported to hospital for a precautionary evaluation, he was processed in police cells, and has since been charged with assaulting a police officer
One man has been arrested after he confronted and assaulted a police officer last night.
At around 10:00 p.m. on September 12, 2023, members of Patrol were attending to a matter in the area of Avenue U South and 21st Street West when an uninvolved man aggressively approached and assaulted a Constable. Following a brief struggle with officers, the man was arrested.
The 29-year-old man was believed to be under the influence of intoxicant(s) and was transported to hospital for a precautionary evaluation before being processed in Detention. He has since been charged with assaulting a police officer.
