Heavy snow should be tapering off for most of Saskatchewan Sunday evening.

SASKATCHEWAN - A low-pressure system over eastern Saskatchewan continued to spread a large area of accumulating snow across parts of the southern half of the province Sunday, but the heavy show is now forecast to taper off throughout the evening.

Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected by the end of the weekend, says Environment Canada.

Rapidly accumulating snow has made travel difficult in some locations.

Environment Canada says visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Environment Canada also warns people to take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.
