REGINA - A Tornado Warning has been lifted, but a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in now effect for:
- R.M. of Excel including Viceroy Ormiston and Verwood
- R.M. of Lake Johnson including Mossbank and Ardill
- R.M. of Lake of The Rivers including Assiniboia
- R.M. of Terrell including Spring Valley and Cardross
Environment Canada has issued the following statement:
At 2:43 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, nickel to ping pong ball size hail and torrential rain. These thunderstorms extend from Lake of the Rivers north to Old Wives Lake and are moving north-northeast at 20 km/h. Heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. At 2:20 p.m. a Tornado Warning was in effect for the following areas: R.M. of Lake Johnson including Mossbank and Ardill, and R.M. of Lake of The Rivers including Assiniboia. That is no longer in effect.
