MEADOW LAKE - Meadow Lake RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT) seized a number of illicit drugs and firearms during a property search.

On Oct. 20, Saskatchewan RCMP’s CRT conducted a search of a home in Meadow Lake as part of an ongoing investigation.

During a search of the residence, officers located and seized 500 grams of methamphetamine, 68 grams of cocaine, four modified firearms (two of which are prohibited and one that was loaded), ammunition, a significant sum of currency and drug-trafficking paraphernalia. A man was arrested at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old suspect from Meadow Lake is charged with: possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine; possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine; possession of weapon for dangerous purposes; possession of restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammo without licence or registration; unsafe storage of firearms; possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized; weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization; fail to comply with release order condition; and possession of property obtained by crime less than or equal $5,000.

He appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Oct. 23. He will make his next appearance on Oct. 28.
