Woman wanted in Île-à-la-Crosse now arrested

She is scheduled to appear in court in Île-à-la-Crosse on June 25.

ILE-A-LA-CROSSE - Update, April 24, 9:26 a.m.: Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP arrested wanted woman Kristen Opikokew on April 23 at a residence in Île-à-la-Crosse.

She is scheduled to appear in court in Île-à-la-Crosse on June 25.

Original post, April 23,12:24 p.m.: Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP is asking the public to report sightings and information on the whereabouts of 40-year-old Kristen Opikokew.

She is charged with assault and wanted on warrant by Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP. This charge was laid in relation to a November 2024 investigation.

Opikokew is described as:

  • Height: 5'8"  
  • Weight: 120 lbs. 
  • Eye colour: brown
  • Hair colour and style: brown

Opikokew is known to travel to the following areas:

  • Meadow Lake.
  • Île-à-la-Crosse.
  • Canoe Lake.
  • Fort McMurray, Alta.

Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP continue to investigate.
