The Bjorkdale School gave a farewell supper to three of their long-serving staff members.
Sherry Fredsberg was the school’s receptionist/librarian for 11 years. Jordann Kovach was the high school Physical Education teacher for seven years and Helen and Sherman Babcock started in 2008 being the custodians at the school.
The school organized some videos for all the recipients that included a dance, skits, plays and just overall, having all the students say how much they appreciated them all. There was also a spaghetti supper organized by the students and staff and that was a silver collection that raised over $3,000 towards Alicia Orosz, the Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2 teacher who is currently on leave battling breast cancer. Great job by everyone involved.
The June is Recreation & Parks Month grant was utilized to bring in the Tisdale Day Camps climbing wall as that day and was climbed on for a straight three hours by all the students and even some parents took a turn. The kids enjoyed it and it was great to have something different come to town.
