Bethany College students entertain

Blaine Lake Gospel Chapel held its annual Valentine's celebration Feb. 15 at the chapel hall.

Blaine Lake Gospel Chapel held its annual Valentine's celebration Feb. 15 at the chapel hall. Over 70 members of the community and church congregation gathered around the tastefully decorated tables for an evening of good food, entertainment from the dynamic Bethany College performing arts department and fellowship.

Performers from Bethany College included Kaylee Buhler, Sidney Knull, Josie Penner, Rachel Quapp, Amy Thiessen, Vanessa Loewen, Carley Snaith, Chris Penner, Erick Penner, Jeff Williams, Ty Klassen and Ryan Bright. The students were under the direction of Susan Schmidt Goerz.

The students performed a selection of short humorous skits about love, relationships and communication using minimal props. The students concluded with their rendition of You are My Sunshine, while playing colourful ukuleles. Once again, the students and director should be commended on their dedication and ability to perform at the professional level.

This was the seventh year that the performing arts students entertained at Blaine Lake Gospel Chapel. Bethany College is located in Hepburn approximately 30 minutes north of Saskatoon and is a Bible college that focuses on nurturing disciples and training leaders to serve.
