Blind Contour is a collection of works by Sarah Jane Holtom and Brandan Doty. The works are created using a technique where you look only at the object and draw what you truly see. Sarah's subject is her beloved dog, Penny.
Using carpets, blankets and her dog's unique colouring, Holtom has created a tableau of complicated and interesting patterns.
Doty uses the motion of a hockey game as his subject. He follows the trajectory of the puck throughout each period of the game to create patterns that resemble abstract art. Each artist has used creativity to capture a moment in time.
Heather Smith of the Moose Jaw Art Gallery and Museum is the exhibits curator. It is sponsored by the Battlefords Allied Arts Council and is touring through the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils. The exhibition is at the Chapel Gallery until Feb. 15.
